aqua waves caress the beach
sunshine glistens on sand as far as the eyes can see
stars dance every night in the sky

they tell us when to
pray and sleep
and love and pray

in the morning
we drink mango juice from our palms
licking every drop
lips wanting more

when the sun is at its highest
the wind stops and waits for the clouds ….
sitting in the evening distance

oh such liberating desire

release me from these bonds

which blind me from the sun

the brightness

‘the warmth

lifted from the stone

placed in a washing bowl

my fingers reach in – grasping

lifting dripping into my face

a brief respite from the dryness

the lonely sleep
