The Roots are an American hip hop band, formed in 1987 by Tariq “Black Thought” Trotter and Ahmir “Questlove” Thompson in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States. The Roots currently serve as the house band on NBC’s The Tonight Show.

Glim Spanky is a Japanese rock band from Nagano Prefecture, consisting of vocalist and rhythm guitarist Remi Matsuo and lead guitarist Hiroki Kamemoto. Originally formed in 2007 as a quartet, the group became a duo in February 2010.

Carlos Cipa is a Munich-based composer and pianist. He has been classically trained on the piano and studied contemporary classical composition at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Munich. During his teenage years, he started playing  drums and gained experience as a member of various bands. Experimenting with different styles of music, he turned back to the piano as his main instrument, facilitating him to find his way throughout composition and improvisation, before releasing his debut »The Monarch and the Viceroy« and sophomore record »All your life you walk« on Denovali Records in 2012 and 2014. In 2019, Cipa released »Retronyms«, his third studio album that expanded his artistic approach as well as his colour palette, bringing together his background as a classically trained pianist and composer with his interest for pop, jazz and electronic music in all its diverse facets.

Lola Marsh is an Israeli indie pop band from Tel Aviv. The band was formed as a duo in 2013 by Gil Landau and Yael Shoshana Cohen, and was quickly signed by the indie label Anova Music. The group released their first EP, You’re Mine, under Universal Records-Barclay in January 2016.

Yvette Marie Stevens, better known by her stage name Chaka Khan, is an American singer and songwriter. Her career has spanned nearly five decades, beginning in the 1970s as the lead vocalist of the funk band Rufus. Known as the “Queen of Funk”, Khan was the first R&B artist to have a crossover hit featuring a rapper, with “I Feel for You” in 1984. Khan has won ten Grammy Awards and has sold an estimated 70 million records worldwide.

Raveena Aurora, also known as Raveena, is an American singer and songwriter. Her debut EP, Shanti, was released independently in 2017 after graduating from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts. Shanti explored themes of self-love and healing, and blended R&B, soul, and jazz music. Her first album, Lucid, was released independently in 2019 and distributed through Empire Distribution. She directed several of her own music videos where she displayed her Indian heritage and “rich interiority of women of color like herself”.

Sílvia Pérez Cruz is a Spanish singer. In 2012, she recorded her first solo album, 11 de Novembre, which was nominated for album of the year in both Spain and France. One of her compositions, “No Te Puedo Encontrar”, received a Goya Award for best original song. In 2014, she released her album Granada. Both releases have been in collaboration with Raül Fernández Miró.

Mojo Ruiz de Luzuriaga, known professionally as Mo’Ju and previously as Mojo Juju, is an ARIA Award-nominated Australian musician, best-known for her 2018 album Native Tongue and the lead single of the same title. The single won the Best Independent Single category in the 2019 AIR Awards. She plays guitar and piano, writes songs and sings, and has created music in a number of genres.

Mo’Ju has toured with international performers and her music has been featured in a number of television shows. Her identity is a matter of pride and she explores rather than hides what it is to be Wiradjuri, Filipino and queer.

Carnatic Music 2.0 is an experimental project founded by Mahesh Raghvan that attempts to present Carnatic compositions in a modern style, by fusing them with elements of Dubstep, Drum and Bass, and Electronic Dance Music. The objective of this project is to present Carnatic Music Fusion in a way that would appeal to the young and modern audiences of today.
